GEORGE SARFATTY, AIA NCARB CSI
President
George started his career during the summer of his second year of high school as an office assistant with Skidmore Owings & Merrill in Chicago, Illinois. Since that time, George has held many positions with prominent Chicago architectural firms and McDonald’s Corporation serving as one of their staff architects.
During the years before he started his own firm, George realized that every career experience that he had at the largest firm or corporation to the smallest architectural office provided him with a new design solution, a better way to resolve a project detail or a more effective way to meet a client’s goals.
When George founded Sarfatty Associates, Ltd in 1990, he took what he had learned from his previous career experiences and designed a firm based upon the philosophy of “superior client service” and the continuation of "learning and knowledge" for his professional staff.
George received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree with High Honors from the University of Illinois in 1973, became an Illinois Licensed Architect in 1976 and is a licensed architect in 37 states and the District of Columbia. George obtained his Council of Architectural Registration Boards Certification (NCARB) in 1992, is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the International Council of Building Officials (ICBO).
